The well at Honyaranoie
The temperature is almost stable as it comes from underground. So it is cool in summer and is warm in winter.
Dug well and a bucket
This type was used until about 1950. Put pulley on the ceiling and use a bucket to draw water. (The roof of the well has gone and this well cannot use now in Honyaranoie).Now there is no artisan of this type wall. They have been filled in and almost extinct.
This type started from about 1910. After about 1950, the electric pump and waterworks have spread rapidly, so this type have diminished. Now they are still manufactured. They are useful for emergency as you don’t need electricity.
Traditional cooking stove in Honyaranoie (Okudo sun)
They said the origin started already in stone age. In japan they were used until about 1950.
There is the label “Santo-seisakusho(factory) , Sakae kamado(stove)”. You put firewood and cook rice and other meal.
